The Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort and Spa, Chandler Arizona

Recently I had the pleasure of attending a conference in Phoenix and staying in the fabulous Four Diamond AAA Wild Horse Pass Resort. This amazing property sits on 2500 acres of land located in the Sonoran Desert.  The resort is an authentic representation of the Gila River Indian Community’s culture and heritage and every detail, both inside and out, celebrates the Pima and Maricopa Indian tribes of the area.  Learning the history through the resort’s artwork and displays was fascinating, but the most important part was the sense of peacefulness you feel during your stay.  The rooms are very well appointed and the views in the common areas are fantastic.  There is always a subtle melody playing in the background that adds to the experience.  You will find plenty of places to eat at the resort, but they are known for Kai, Arizona’s only 5 star/5 diamond restaurant, which offers a fine dining experience with Native American cuisine.

If you are looking for something to do during your stay, there are more than enough attractions to keep you busy. At the resort itself, you will find a Aji Spa, Koli Equestrian Center, Whirlwind Golf Club, four pools, tennis c ourts, and walking and jogging trails.  If you hop on the resort’s shuttle, you can find even more entertainment.  My favorite was Rawhide Western Town, which is a replica of an 1800s Western town.  Here you will find a Steakhouse and Saloon and a good variety of shops.  You will feel like you’ve been transported to the old, wild West!  For those who like to gamble, Wild Horse Pass has a huge casino with slots, poker, blackjack, and other table games.  The casino is attached to the Wild Horse Pass Hotel, which has a nice bar and several places to eat.  Shoppers will love Phoenix Premium Outlets which are located beside the casino.  There are over 90 name brand shops and a food court on the property.

This resort made my stay truly enjoyable and relaxing.  The desert landscape, the comfortable rooms, the beautiful lobbies and common areas, and the variety of lounges, restaurants, and activities make this an amazing get-away.
