If you have not experienced Royal Caribbean’s new Oasis class ships, Oasis of the Seas and Allure, you are missing out on an amazing experience! Having experienced both, I can tell you they are incredible vacations. Although they alternate exciting Eastern and Western Caribbean destinations, it would be a fabulous trip even if you never got off the ship! There are so many things to see and experience, you really can’t cover it thoroughly in only one week.
In the next few posts, I will take you through a 7 day cruise on the Oasis of the Seas. The most fascinating part of this beautiful ship is the neighborhood concept It is divided into 7 distinct neighborhoods: Central Park, Royal Promenade, Boardwalk, Pool and Sports Zone, Spa and Fitness, Entertainment Place, and the Youth Zone.
My favorite neighborhood was definitely Central Park, which is pictured above. It was absolutely amazing that over 5000 people were aboard this sailing and Central Park always felt very private and NEVER had a crowd. The atmosphere is so tranquil and peaceful, especially in the evening with all the glittering white lights. This is the space where you find tropical gardens and a wide variety of plants and foliage. You even hear the piped in sounds of chirping birds! Upscale boutique shopping is found in Central Park, along with some of the best specialty restaurants on the ship. We enjoyed the Park Cafe, which was complimentary, and always had light meals such as salads and sandwiches. The signature steakhouse, Chops Grille, is not to be missed! Although there is a small charge, the meal was one of the best I’ve ever had! The chef even came to our table to see how we were enjoying our dinner. Giovanni’s Table, an Italian restaurant, is also one that I would highly recommend. While in the neighborhood, check out the Rising Tide Bar. You will enter and “float” between decks as you enjoy a cocktail. If you came to shop, don’t leave Central Park without visiting the Coach store. You’ll find a great selection of the newest Coach bags. The next time I sail on the Oasis, I will be in a Central Park Balcony. These balcony staterooms overlook this beautiful park, so you can enjoy the feeling of nature and do some people watching too!
